Universal Builders Licensing Program was conceived in the year of 1999, by an MBA

graduate and his associate friend whom graduated from a university construction

management program.  The two individuals did successful management consulting

projects for many years. The MBA graduate, also held a top executive position in

government until retirement.  

The MBA graduate was asked by a client to assist in the planning process for a

major Church Renovation Project.  His associate being a recent construction

management graduate wanted to help and be a subcontractor on the project in the

future.  However there was one problem, neither individuals had a builders license.

Although, this was a challenge, both individuals teamed up and said, "we can do it."

So they gathered every piece of information; books, regulations, codes, laws, guides,

pre-exams and etc., from around the country and studied for months not realizing they

were over-studying the material, because mostly all of it was the same.

These two guys studied, studied and did more studying, because they had two goals

in mind.  One, was to pass the builders licensing exam, and the other to be

subcontractors on that church renovation project, they saw the money!  They were

hooked and want to become licensed professional builders.    

Strangely enough when test time came they were so prepared, that each one of them

practically memorized every questions from the (Construction) exam.  This surprise

them and when they went back for section-two the (Business & Law) exam a few

weeks later they were able to do the same thing, remarkably so.

Well they held on to those precious test questions for years and passed them on to a

few friends and others around the country.  All of their buddies had successful results

too in passing their state licensing exams in just 4 or 5 weeks of study.  Since that

time there have been continuous updates and interviews of candidates whom recently

passed their examination for licensing from around the country.

Well both individuals has gone on to build custom homes, many major home

additions, and work in some positions as; a Construction Project Manager,

Construction Specification Writer, Material Estimator, Construction Procurement

Buyer, Home Inspector and a General Construction Consultant in the industry.  The

moral of this story is; through these two hard-working individuals and their

knowledge, along with many others we now have the benefit of educating ourselves to

become licensed and professional builders.
